How to Administer Solid Medication to Pets:

Method 1: During feeding time, discreetly place the medication inside your pet's favorite treat. They can consume the treat along with the medicine.

Method 2: Gently hold your pet's nose with your left hand and use your thumb and middle finger to press the upper lip inward. This will cause the pet to open its mouth. With your right hand, carefully place the medication on the tongue, push it to the back of the throat with your thumb, quickly close the mouth, and gently stroke the chin to encourage swallowing. The pet should lick its tongue before the medication is fully ingested.

Method 3: Securely grasp your pet's ears at the base with your left hand, tilting the head slightly upwards. Use a pair of forceps with a rubber tube to gently insert the medication between the teeth, placing it at the back of the tongue. Close the mouth, and the pet should lick its tongue to swallow the medicine.

How to Administer Liquid Medication to Pets:

Method 1: Add the liquid medication to your pet's favorite food during feeding time, so they can consume it along with their meal.

Method 2: Use a syringe to draw the medication and hold your pet's head steady with your left hand. Tilt the head upwards. With your right hand, carefully insert the syringe between the teeth at the corner of the mouth and slowly inject the medication.

Method 3: For weak or subdued pets, use a properly sized gastric tube. Open the pet's mouth, insert a hard object between the teeth to prevent closure, and pass the tube through the throat into the esophagus. Once confirmed that the esophagus is in the tube, inject the medication using a syringe.

Topical Administration:

Eye Administration: When administering watersoluble eye drops, use only 2 to 3 drops, as most eye medications last for about 2 hours. Avoid touching the eye with the dropper. For ointmentbased eye medications, apply the cream to the lower eyelid. The ointment's effect can last approximately 4 hours, and it is recommended to reapply every 4 hours.

Ear Administration: Securely hold your pet's head and lift the outer ear to expose the ear canal. Clean out any earwax with a cotton swab. Then, drop a few drops of ear oil into the canal and gently massage the base of the ear.

In addition to these methods, there are also injection, inhalation, and rectal administration techniques. Due to their complexity, it is advisable to consult a professional veterinarian for these types of treatments.
