Why do some dogs seem to have been enchanted, displaying an enigmatic intelligence that leaves us baffled, while others exude a kind of傻气 that can't help but evoke laughter? Despite being of the same species, their intelligence can vary greatly due to factors like genetics, training, breed, and individual differences. If your dog exhibits the following behaviors, it might indicate a lower level of intelligence~

1. Getting Lost When Outdoors

Intelligent dogs can quickly recognize their owners through their appearance, scent, and voice. However, less intelligent dogs might mistake others for their owners when out and about, even following them away.

2. Overly Friendly with Everyone

Smart dogs usually have a degree of wariness towards strangers, neither readily barking nor biting, nor overly enthusiastic. If your dog gets overly excited and wags its tail, wanting to lick everyone who comes by, it might be a sign of lower intelligence, lacking in caution, and easily deceived.

3. Arguing with Its Reflection

The mirror test is a common method to assess an animal's intelligence. Dogs with lower intelligence might be startled or bark at their reflection in the mirror, even attempting to attack it.

4. Difficulty in Training

Intelligent dogs can quickly grasp their owner's intentions and learn basic commands like "sit," "down," and "shake" after a few repetitions. Dogs with lower intelligence, however, may not understand their owner's instructions despite repeated training.

5. Frequent Accidents

Most dogs are trained to use a designated area for elimination. If your dog, without any urinary system issues, heat, or other health problems, frequently urinates or defecates in inappropriate places, it could be a sign of lower intelligence.

6. Easy to Be Bullied

When interacting with other dogs, if a dog is easily bullied, even appearing timid despite a larger size, it may reflect a lack of social skills or coping strategies, indicating lower intelligence.

7. Not Knowing How to Find Food

Intelligent dogs will generally try to find food when they're hungry, and if they can't, they'll use barking or other methods to remind their owners to feed them. Less intelligent dogs, however, often just stand around in the feeding area, silently waiting.

8. Lack of SelfProtection

If a dog doesn't bark or protect its owner in the face of danger, like a burglar breaking into the home, and instead approaches strangers, it may indicate a lack of intelligence.

These behaviors are not definitive indicators of a dog's intelligence. Instead, they require owners to use positive reinforcement training, patience, and socialization to help improve their dogs' behavior. Every dog has its unique qualities. Understanding and respecting their personalities, and guiding them correctly, is key to enhancing their performance.
