Important Tips for Cats Using Air Conditioning:

1. Ensure Your Cat Has Adequate Water

Air conditioning can make the room quite dry, which is not good for your cat's health. Therefore, it's crucial to encourage your cat to drink plenty of water when using the air conditioner.

2. Avoid Setting the Air Conditioner Too Cold

While it's fine to let your cat enjoy the coolness of the airconditioned room when you're home, the temperature should not be set too low. Aim for around 2627 degrees Celsius, and try to keep the indooroutdoor temperature difference to no more than 7 degrees. After running the air conditioner for 1 to 3 hours, turn it off and open the windows to let out the stale air and bring in fresh outdoor air for a proper air exchange.

3. Maintain a Clean Indoor Environment

The dry and moderate temperature in an airconditioned room can create an ideal habitat for viruses and bacteria. Since the air in these rooms tends to be stagnant, failing to keep the space clean can lead to a buildup of bacteria, potentially causing illnesses. To combat the dryness, consider using a humidifier as well.

4. Don't Keep Your Cat in the AirConditioned Room for Extended Periods

It's best to avoid keeping your cat in an airconditioned room for long durations. When you're out, place your cat in a cool, wellventilated area where they can enjoy a breeze. Natural air flow is beneficial for your cat's health too.

Tip: Cats that frequently spend time in airconditioned rooms may develop symptoms like listlessness, sneezing, runny nose, coughing, and even fever, which can be signs of air conditioningrelated illnesses. In severe cases, they may exhibit increased breathing and heart rates.
