Identifying Cat Age from Found Kitten: A Quick Guide
Young Kitten
At around two weeks of age, kittens begin to grow their milk teeth. Typically, these teeth will be fully erupted by about two months. Around the three to fourmonth mark, the kittens will start to teethe, with most of their permanent teeth emerging by approximately eight months old.
Adult Cat
Cats between the ages of one to two years will notice that the tips of their second incisors will gradually wear down and become smaller due to the act of chewing. By the time they reach three to four years, the tips of their first incisors will also begin to flatten.
As cats approach four to five years of age, the tips of their second incisors will be completely worn down, and the tips of their third incisors will start to show signs of wear.
Senior Cat
Generally, once cats reach the age of nine years and older, they may experience the loss of their incisors, or other teeth may start to fall out as well.
