II. SelfPlay Series

1. Rabbit Skin

Purchase the cheapest, flawed skin available on Taobao for practice. After acquiring it, disinfect, clean, and dry it before giving it to your child to play with. Be cautious as some skins may have staples; ensure they are all removed to prevent injuries. Since it's an animal product, a little chewing isn't a big deal.

2. Feathers of Various Birds

Buy inexpensive, uncolored feathers from Taobao. Avoid bright, colored ones as they might not be suitable. Disinfect, clean, and dry them before play.

3. Zeze Acorn Toy

My kitten loves this toy, but unfortunately, three of them destroyed it in less than six months. I wish I had bought more during a sale. I even convinced a few friends to buy it, and they all had positive feedback.

4. Realistic Bird/Mouse Toy

These toys make a loud noise when touched. Initially, your cat will be intrigued, but over time, they may become just decorations. I tied a string to it and used it as a cat toy, which surprisingly worked well.

5. Bells Ball

Smaller cats love this toy, but older cats may not be as interested. Give it a try, but remember to put it away after 9 PM to avoid any mishaps.

6. Rolling Dragon/Cat Tunnel (Especially Suitable for MultiCat Families)

A toy I regret not buying sooner. While singlecat families might find it fun for their kittens, multicat families can use it for chasing games. It's also great for playing with cat wands as obstacles. For more details, see the recent post on "Cat Wand Instructions."

7. Rabbit Skin Mouse

My second kitten loved this toy, tearing it apart and playing with it for hours. I even bought a whole box from Alibaba, as it was very affordable.

8. Small Velvet Balls

Look for DIY velvet balls for children's crafts on Taobao. They are very cheap. I recommend balls about 3 cm in diameter; they're not too big to be swallowed and not too small to be easily carried around by the cat.

9. Ping Pong Ball Trainer

Cats go wild with this toy. Tips: Secure the top ball with 502 glue and make sure the base is firmly attached.

10. Electric Fish/Lobster

Initially, it captures the cat's attention, but then loses its appeal. Try it if you want to record a video.

11. Express Delivery Paper Box

12. Long, Hanging Fabric

Use curtains, bedding, or even discounted, clearance fabric from the store.

13. A Large Basin of Water

Cats have more fun playing with fish in the water.

14. Hanging Cat Wand

15. Electric Cat Wand/Spinner

16. Suction Cup Mouse/Feather

17. Sisal Ball/Mouse

18. All Kinds of Bobbleheads

19. Catnip Stuffed Toy

20. Mimosa Tree Stick

21. Mimosa Tree Fruit Galls

These are small, knobby pieces of wood that can be very appealing to many cats, even if they're indifferent to mimosa sticks and catnip.

22. Action Figures

Yes, expensive action figures. My kitten loves them, but I won't rate them! (Be cautious with small parts to prevent accidental ingestion.)

23. Other Cats

Other kittens can be great playmates if they get along well.

24. All Kinds of Scratching Posts

25. Cat Climbing Frames

Ideal for multicat families. Choose a tall, sturdy frame for the kittens to enjoy chasing games. Avoid cheap options to prevent wood splinters.

26. Cat Beds

I prefer small, cozy cat beds with a tight entrance, cardboard beds, and straw chicken coops.

III. Supervised Play Series

1. Very Lightly Inflated Balloons

2. Badminton Shuttlecocks

3. Thick, HandTied Bracelet Rope Balls

4. Plastic Bags/Paper Bags

5. All Kinds of Fairy Cat Wands

6. Colorful Strip (Noisy Paper) Cat Wands

7. Noisy Paper Balls

IV. Suggested Limited Use Series

Laser Pointer

While laser pointers may seem fun, they can lead to frustration as cats chase a moving dot they can never catch. This can result in a lack of hunting satisfaction and potentially develop into an obsession with chasing light. It's advisable to limit their use.
