The Koo Mouth Sandpaper Dog boasts a robust and muscular neck, with the skin showing slight looseness. Below the throat, the sides feature distinct wrinkles that separate (defects include a short neck and an excess of wrinkles). The back is tall, wide, short, and compact, with a solid and straight waist. The chest is deep and wide, with welldeveloped chest muscles, tightly packed ribs, and a moderate curve.

1. Overall Appearance — The dog has a compact structure and dense bones, appearing almost square from the side. Standing firmly on the ground, it exudes a calm and dignified expression.

2. Head and Skull — The head is flat and broad, slightly larger in proportion to the body, with an indistinct forehead. The cheeks are marked by numerous and clear wrinkles that extend down to the sagging parts on either side of the neck. The snout is short and moderately sized, extending from the eyes to the tip of the nose (a narrow snout is undesirable; the shape resembles a hippo's mouth).

3. Nose — Most often black, large, and wide, though occasionally creamcolored dogs may have red noses, and some light red dogs may have nose leathers that match their coat color, but black is preferred.

4. Eyes — Deepset and small, almondshaped, with a slight indentation (lightcolored eyes are seen in cream and light red dogs). This indentation, combined with the creased eyes, gives the appearance of a furrowed brow, which can help prevent injury during a fight.

5. Mouth — The teeth are strong and level, forming a scissors bite, with slightly curved canines.

6. Tongue — A deep purple color, with the lips and upper mouth area being black. In purebred dogs, the gums are often black as well.

These dogs require adequate nutrition during their upbringing to thrive properly.
