Amidst the sudden plummet in temperatures, the puppies' shelter failed to shield them from the biting cold. Prolonged exposure to the low temperatures necessitated an increased expenditure of glycogen within their bodies to maintain their body heat, leading to a depletion of stored glycogen. When this glycogen is not promptly replenished, hypoglycemia can set in.

Clinical Symptoms: The puppies exhibit a disheveled coat, appear emaciated, huddle together, show a lack of interest in movement, and have unsteady gait, constant swaying. In severe cases, they may suffer from spasmodic muscle contractions throughout their bodies. Their body temperature hovers around 36℃ to 37℃, and in the most severe instances, they may collapse into violent seizures, accompanied by a state of coma.

Treatment: Administer a mixture of 10ml of 10% glucose per kilogram of body weight, 20mg of ATP, and 25 units of Coenzyme A intravenously, once daily, for 2 to 3 days. For severe cases, an additional 10ml of 25% glucose can be given twice or thrice daily for 3 days. Concurrently, provide supportive treatments with oral calcium gluconate and vitamin B complex tablets. Ensure the puppies are kept warm, and their diet should primarily consist of milk, supplemented with bone broth and other proteinrich foods.
