Section 1: Common Symptoms of Canine Dermatitis

Dogs suffering from skin diseases often exhibit red rashes and pustules, along with generalized itching. When they feel itchy, they may chew on their paws or rub against walls. In severe cases, dogs with skin diseases may experience hair loss in specific areas, pain at the affected skin sites, and even ulceration.

Section 2: Treatment for Canine Dermatitis

1. Before administering any medication for skin diseases, it's essential to clean the skin. Typically, the most accessible and gentle disinfectant at home is saltwater. Use a dilution of 1 part salt to 10 parts water to clean the skin. In some instances, you may need to trim the dog's fur and then rinse with saltwater.

2. For certain severe skin conditions, if topical treatments alone are insufficient, oral antibiotics may be necessary as an adjunctive therapy. Dogs are often prescribed Amoxicillin (dosage: 1222mg/kg body weight, taken 23 times daily).

3. Consider using Vitamin B2 tablets for treatment, as adequate vitamin supplementation can promote hair and skin growth in dogs. Therefore, opting for a multivitamin as an auxiliary treatment can be a wise choice.

4. When applying medication, avoid simply smearing it on the skin's surface. Instead, ensure it's applied deeply into the skin. It's particularly beneficial to apply more medication to severe areas and then gently massage the area for one minute.

Remember to fit your dog with an Elizabethan collar each time you apply medication to prevent them from licking or scratching their skin, which could harm you. Additionally, you might opt to wrap your dog in breathable gauze to protect both them and your skin from the disease.
