It's generally understood that dogs exhibit nonseasonal estrus, meaning they can become fertile throughout the year. However, a notable pattern emerges where the number of estrus cycles peaks during the spring months of March, April, and May, and again in the autumn from September to November. This surge is significantly higher than the average throughout the year, and much more pronounced than during the summer and winter seasons.

Despite no longer being strictly seasonal in their estrus cycles, dogs still experience peak estrus periods. The spring and autumn are these peak times, influenced by a multitude of factors that affect the frequency of their estrus.
