Cat Personality: While different cat breeds may vary greatly in appearance, their personalities are surprisingly similar. To put it simply, there are goodnatured strays and even some mischievous Ragdolls. A cat's temperament is influenced by both innate and acquired factors. Innate factors refer to the time humans have domesticated cats, which can be understood as the number of generations of domestication. People tend to breed cats that are gentle and affectionate towards humans.

Acquired factors are related to the socialization patterns established during a cat's early life. Frequent exposure to human scents, vacuum cleaner noises, and other aspects of human life during this period can greatly facilitate a cat's adaptation to human society as an adult. Research indicates that the critical period for establishing socialization patterns is between birth and 3.5 months of age.

DaytoDay Care: Whether it's a longhaired or shorthaired cat, shedding is a common issue. The difference lies in the type of fur shed—long or short. Therefore, when considering the shedding problem, it's essential to think about whether you should even consider getting a cat. If you decide to adopt a cat, it's advisable to have a handheld cordless vacuum cleaner at home.

Domestic Cat Breeds in China: The breeds of cats we wish to adopt also depend on what's available in China. Currently, the most commonly found breeds include the Chinese rural cat, Siamese cat, American Shorthair, British Shorthair, Chinchilla, Persian cat, Bobtail, Folded Ear, and Persian cat. Breeds with relatively lower populations include Ragdoll, Curls, Maine Coon, Dwarf cat, Devon Rex, and Hairless cats. Some breeds with less distinct features, resembling domestic cats, are rarely bred, such as the Bombay cat, Japanese Bobtail, and Burmese cat. These cats are difficult to find.

Price Factors: The prices of different breeds vary significantly. Chinese rural cats can range from free to a few hundred yuan. Popular breeds like the American Shorthair, British Shorthair, and Chinchilla are priced around 2,500 yuan. Less common breeds like the Maine Coon, Ragdoll, Curls, and Hairless cats generally cost over 5,000 yuan. Those who are on a tight budget, like the "cat boss" who is living on a shoestring, might consider adopting a Chinese rural cat, such as an orange or calico cat. For those with a stable income, we recommend the American Shorthair, British Shorthair, and Chinchilla.
