How often should you deworm a Corgi dog internally?

Internal deworming for Corgis is typically done with tablet forms, and the dosage should be determined based on your dog's weight. Simply feeding the tablet is sufficient. For puppies, it's recommended to deworm at 4, 8, and 12 weeks of age, and then every three months after that. Regular deworming not only prevents but also eliminates parasites, which can greatly reduce麻烦 for your furry friend.

How to Administer Internal Deworming Medication

First, gently open your Corgi's mouth, quickly place the tablet at the base of their tongue, and then hold their mouth shut. Gently stroke their neck to encourage swallowing. Only release your hold once you see your dog swallow the tablet.

External Deworming

How often should you deworm a Corgi dog externally?

External deworming involves removing parasites from your Corgi's skin. This is usually done with preventive topical treatments, which come in spray and drop forms and are applied directly to the dog's body. As a general rule, it's advisable to deworm preventatively once a month starting from when your dog is over 49 days old. During the summer, you can increase the frequency to every 15 days, or more frequently during peak parasite seasons.

How to Use External Deworming Medication

For spray types, apply the medication evenly over your dog's fur, ensuring it is completely wet. Gently massage the area and let the product dry naturally. With drop forms, simply part the fur along your Corgi's spine and apply the drops in a line along their back.

Important Notes for Deworming Your Corgi:

1. It's not recommended to deworm a new Corgi puppy immediately upon arrival.
