Every day, the happiest moment for a dog is often a leisurely stroll outside, but for their owners, taking the dog for a walk can be quite the "project." It typically involves dedicating at least half an hour to an hour of their time, and once the walk is over, there's the task of cleaning up, which can take up another chunk of time. Sometimes, during these outdoor adventures, especially when they venture into tall grass or thick underbrush, our furry friends might pick up parasites, and not all of these critters can be easily removed with a simple cleaning routine. That's when it's essential to consider deworming for our pets.

Here are some key points to know about deworming:

1. Deworming is not just a good idea; it's necessary. Bloodsucking parasites can lead to anemia in pets or even introduce infectious diseases.

2. For external deworming, the medication should be applied to the skin behind the dog's neck. It's crucial to avoid bathing the dog for three days before and after the application to ensure the medication works effectively.

3. Generally, external deworming is recommended once a month, while internal deworming schedules can vary, with some medications requiring treatment once a month and others every three months, depending on their specific efficacy.

4. When it comes to deworming our dogs, prevention is truly better than cure.
