Can Dogs Get Rabies and Vaccines Simultaneously?
As vaccines are biological preparations, individual variations can occur, which may lead to allergic reactions. Combining two doses of the vaccine can further increase the likelihood of such reactions.
It is generally recommended to administer the rabies vaccine approximately seven days after the third dose of the primary immunization series, to minimize the risk of allergic reactions. However, if both vaccines are administered simultaneously, it is permissible, but the dog owner must ensure that their pet is observed in the veterinary clinic for at least half an hour. During this time, the veterinarian will monitor for signs of drooling, swelling in the nasal and oral areas. In the event of any abnormalities, immediate action should be taken under the guidance of a professional veterinarian to prevent severe allergic reactions.
Should the dog not exhibit any allergic reactions during the initial immunization, it is safe to administer combined vaccines along with the rabies vaccine during annual booster shots.
