What Pomeranians Should Avoid Eating:

1. Chocolate is a definite nogo for Pomeranians. The alkaloids in chocolate can significantly reduce blood flow to the dog's brain, potentially leading to heart disease and other lifethreatening conditions.

2. Raw or undercooked meat should never be fed to dogs. Raw meat can contain harmful bacteria like Salmonella and E. coli, which can cause gastrointestinal illnesses.

3. Small bones like those from chicken, duck, and fish can be dangerous. When dogs chew them, the bones can splinter into sharp points, potentially piercing the esophagus or gastrointestinal tract. Raw bones, however, are suitable for dogs to chew on for dental hygiene.

4. Seafood and other allergenic foods should be avoided, as they can trigger allergic reactions. Symptoms may include redness around the mouth, restlessness, severe itching, allergic rashes, and even allergic diarrhea. It's important for pet owners to be aware of and observe their Pomeranians to identify which foods may cause allergic reactions.

5. Grapes and raisins are a big nono for dogs. Even a single grape or raisin can be harmful. While some pet owners may give their dogs a small amount without issue, the risk is primarily due to the cumulative effect of small amounts over time.

6. Mushrooms should not be fed to Pomeranians. While many edible mushrooms are safe, it's best to avoid them to prevent the development of a mushroomeating habit and to avoid accidental ingestion of toxic varieties in the wild.

7. Foods containing onions should also be avoided for Pomeranians. Onions are rich in disulfides, which can cause hemolytic anemia in dogs, especially if the dog's red blood cells are prone to oxidation.
