If the owner fails to notice and treat the condition promptly, the disease can severely impede the parrot's ability to eat. Additionally, if the infection spreads to the parrot's eyes, the eyes may become watery and cloudy.
However, if the disease is detected early and the parrot is isolated and treated promptly, recovery can be swift. While treating Trichomoniasis is not overly complicated, the key is to act quickly. The longer the disease is left untreated, the more difficult it becomes to cure.
Here are common treatment methods for Parrot Trichomoniasis:
1. Treatment with "Jingchong 2" combined with electrolytes (typically resolves in 35 days)
For weaned parrots suffering from Trichomoniasis, you can administer one spoonful of "Jingchong 2" and electrolytes daily. Treat the bird for a course of 35 days, ensuring to change the water daily. The administration is as follows:
1. Mix one spoonful of "Jingchong 2" and electrolytes with 30ml of water. Allow the parrot to drink the mixture on its own.
2. Mix one spoonful of "Jingchong 2" and electrolytes with 1ml of water and feed it to the parrot's crop using a syringe. Make sure to use water at a temperature of 3840°C.
2. Treatment with "Kouhuang Liangri Jing" (typically resolves in 3 days)
The administration is as follows:
1. Mix 10ml of "Kouhuang Liangri Jing" with 5 liters of water for the parrot to drink freely. Continue this treatment for 3 consecutive days. Here's how to prepare the mixture: Pour 500ml of cool boiled water into a small cup and add 1ml of "Kouhuang Liangri Jing," shake well, and then pour it into the parrot's clean water bowl.
2. If the Trichomoniasis is severe, administer the mixture twice daily.
