Part 1: Symptoms of Canine Encephalitis

According to available information, dogs suffering from encephalitis may exhibit a range of symptoms, including a lack of appetite, abnormal behavior, elevated body temperature, disorientation towards their owners, excessive barking, a lack of coordination in movement, dizziness, excessive sleepiness, and unbalanced gait. They may also show signs of dullness in response, seizures, and in severe cases, symptoms like drooping eyelids, dilated pupils, and paralysis. Various factors such as parasites, infectious diseases, and head injuries can trigger canine encephalitis. Therefore, if you notice these symptoms, it's crucial to seek veterinary care promptly.

Part 2: Treatment for Canine Encephalitis

1. Shock and Allergy Management, and Secondary Infection Prevention: Administer 50 to 100 milliliters of normal saline, 5% glucose, 4 to 8 milligrams of dexamethasone, 0.25 to 0.5 grams of vitamin C, and 0.5 to 1 gram of amoxicillin, either through intravenous injection or infusion. This treatment should be given twice daily for a continuous period of 2 to 3 days.

2. Antibacterial and Antiviral Therapy: Use 50 milligrams per kilogram of body weight of 2.5% Haidar Injection, 1 to 2 milliliters per 10 kilograms of body weight, administered via intramuscular injection. This should be done for 4 to 5 consecutive days.

3. Symptomatic Treatment: Inject 25 to 50 milligrams of chlorpromazine twice daily. For dogs with high fever, inject 2 to 4 milliliters of compound aminophenazone, along with 10 milligrams of vitamin B1, 10 milligrams of vitamin B2, and 10 milligrams of vitamin C to maintain normal nervous system function.

4. Supportive Therapy for LongDuration Cases: Patients with prolonged illness may benefit from intravenous infusions of ATP, coenzyme A, cytochrome C, and 10% glucose solution.
