Characteristics of the Chinese Li Hua Cat

1. The Li Hua cat, a beloved pet in many Chinese households, has earned itself a reputation through various proverbs. For instance, in Suzhou, there's a saying: "A whitefooted Li Hua cat, after eating, will run around." In Nanjing, another proverb goes: "Four feet white, known in every household." Both of these sayings highlight the Li Hua cat's penchant for socializing and visiting different places.

2. The distinctive coat of the "Four Feet of Snow" Li Hua cat is a unique feature, typically characterized by a solid black body with white limbs, resembling a cat wearing white socks. Its size is comparable to that of a regular cat, with a balanced and uniform build. Another variety, known as "Black Cloud Over Snow," shares a similar coat color but has a black body with white on the chin, belly, and limbs. Regardless of the color pattern, a Li Hua cat with an attractive appearance tends to command a higher price.

3. The Li Hua cat is a robust and muscular feline with a striking spotted coat. While it may not openly display its emotions, it can be a loyal and friendly companion. Due to its hunting instincts and need for ample space to roam, the Li Hua cat is not suitable for confined living in small apartments.

4. The Li Hua cat has a grayishwhite coat on its neck and the lower abdomen, with black and graywhite striped fur on the rest of its body, resembling tiger skin. Its short and glossy fur is smooth to the touch. These cats are highly skilled at catching mice and tend to have large litters. They are not particularly close to their owners and are widespread across various regions, with a higher concentration in Shaanxi, Shanxi, and Henan provinces.

5. The Li Hua cat has a round head, wide cheeks, and a considerable distance between its ears. The ears are wellproportioned, with broad bases and deep earlobes, and the tip of the ears is smooth. Its large, almondshaped eyes are bright and expressive, often with a noticeable eye line. The nose features a red bricklike line, and the cat has a mediumsized body with a broad chest. Its tail and limbs are long and proportionate, demonstrating great strength and welldeveloped muscles.
