Section 1: Teddy Bear Dog's Teeth

Adult (permanent) teeth in a Teddy Bear Dog are categorized into incisors, canines, premolars, and molars, totaling 42 teeth.

Puppies have a total of 28 teeth, consisting of incisors, canines, and premolars, with one premolar and one molar missing. The full set of teeth are shortcrowned and conical, with the upper first and second incisors having three peaks, the central incisor being pointed with two additional peaks on either side, and the rest having a single peak. The canines are droughtcone shaped, with sharp, pointed tips that serve as powerful weapons for attack and defense. The premolars have three peaks, while the molars have multiple peaks.

Section 2: Determining the Age of a Teddy Bear Dog

1. Puppies begin to grow their teeth around the 20th day.

2. At 4 to 6 weeks, the deciduous incisors emerge, all of which are white, delicate, and pointed.

3. Between 2 and 4 months, the first deciduous incisor is replaced.

4. From 5 to 6 months, the second and third deciduous incisors, as well as the deciduous canine, are replaced.

5. After 8 months, all permanent teeth have been replaced.

6. At 1 year, the permanent teeth are fully grown, shining white, and all are sharp and pointed.

7. At 1.5 years, the tip of the first incisor on the lower jaw begins to wear down to the level of the smaller tip, a phenomenon known as peak wear.

8. At 2 years, the second incisor on the lower jaw falls out.

9. At 3 years, the first incisor on the upper jaw falls out.

10. At 4.5 years, the tip of the second incisor on the upper jaw will wear down.

11. At 5 years, the third incisor on the lower jaw shows slight wear, and the first and second incisors on the lower jaw have a rectangular wear surface.

12. At 6 years, the tip of the third incisor on the lower jaw, and the canine, become rounded and dull.

13. At 7 years, the first incisor on the lower jaw wears down to the root, leaving a long, elliptical wear surface.

14. At 8 years, the wear surface of the first incisor on the lower jaw tilts forward.

15. At 10 years, the wear surfaces of the first incisor on the upper jaw and the second incisor on the lower jaw become elongated ellipses.

16. At 16 years, the incisors fall out, and the canines are missing.

As dogs age, their teeth become more fragile and may fall out.
