Symptoms of Dog Roundworm Infection

1. Roundworms cause mechanical irritation to the small intestine, robbing the body of nutrients and releasing toxins.

They can severely irritate the intestines, leading to catarrhal enteritis, intestinal mucosal damage, and bleeding. Moreover, the worms continuously produce toxins, which can harm the dog's organs and nervous system, resulting in symptoms such as anemia, neurological disorders, and allergic reactions.

5. Dogs with roundworms may experience continuous weight loss, pale conjunctivae, malnutrition, dull hair, loss of appetite, vomiting, and the presence of worms in the vomit. Palpation of the abdominal area may reveal a mass at the boundary of an intussusception, indicating a high number of parasites. Dogs with these worms often suffer from abdominal pain. In cases of intussusception or obstruction, the dog's overall condition worsens, and they may stop defecating.

6. If roundworms reach the lungs, dogs may exhibit symptoms like coughing and fever, which can lead to pneumonia in severe cases.
