What is the size of a dog that can undergo internal deworming, and how often should it be done?

It is recommended to start deworming puppies with Baytril at 25 days old. They should take the medication every two weeks until they reach 84 days, and then continue with deworming treatments every three months (or once a month until they are 6 months old).

Puppies that are 42 days old can be dewormed using Canine Heartgard, and they should be dewormed monthly thereafter.

Is internal deworming for cats the same as for dogs?

The first deworming for cats is at 6 weeks of age, followed by deworming at 8 and 12 weeks. After 12 weeks, deworming should be done every three months. It is important to note that pregnant cats should be dewormed 10 days before giving birth, and again in the 2nd and 4th weeks after weaning.

How should external deworming medications be used?

External deworming for dogs and cats is divided into treatment and prevention types. Below, we will discuss the differences and usage of these two types.

1. Medications that can kill external parasites, such as Frontline spray, can be used on dogs and cats over 2 days old. Simply spray the medication on the surface of the body, wrap with a towel, and after 30 minutes, clean up any dead parasites. After completing the external deworming, you can proceed with a spoton preventive deworming treatment.

2. Preventive external deworming, such as Frontline spoton (other common preventive external deworming medications include Advantix, Revolution, and Advocate):

These can be used once the cat or dog is over 8 weeks old, and should be applied monthly.
