Canine IQ & Cost: Kangal Shepherd Puppies
Section 1: The Intelligence of Kangal Dogs
Kangal dogs are known for their high intelligence, which is particularly remarkable in large breeds. During training, they can generally understand the meaning behind 20 commands after systematic training. However, to achieve a satisfactory outcome, owners often need to invest in extended periods of repetitive training. It's important to praise your Kangal when it performs well. Be cautious during training to avoid angering the dog, as a fierce Kangal can be difficult to control. Ensure your dog isn't too full before training, aiming for a moderate level of hunger, around 7080% full, as an overly full stomach can negatively impact its performance during training sessions.
Section 2: The Cost of Kangal Dogs
As a national treasure of Turkey, Kangal dogs are more ferocious than Tibetan Mastiffs and are quite rare in China, commanding a high price. A purebred Kangal puppy can cost approximately 100,000 yuan, a sum that is almost unheard of domestically. Adult dogs can fetch prices in the tens of millions, making them one of the most expensive breeds. Kangal dogs are typically not kept as pets due to their high cost, large size, and the fact that they are not wellsuited to domesticated living. Additionally, it's important to note that Turkish cats and dogs are not allowed to be exported to Turkey.
Section 3: How to Care for Kangal Dogs
After about 20 days, Kangal puppies will start to wean off their mother's milk. At this stage, it's appropriate to introduce solid foods gradually. Puppies may experience gastrointestinal discomfort and diarrhea as they adjust. Start with milkbased products and feed them 34 times a day. Gradually reduce the amount of milk in their diet, and introduce a bit of beef and salmon to their meals. Raw meat is nutritious but can also protect their digestive system. By the end of the first month, increase the amount of beef and salmon in their diet and ensure they receive deworming and vaccinations.
