If a trip to the vet is not possible, you can initiate a manual cooling process. Gently wipe your dog's belly, paw pads, and ears with alcohol to help lower their body temperature quickly. Medications to reduce fever should only be administered if the dog's temperature does not drop, and even then, they should be used sparingly.
