Before the surgery, it is crucial to refrain from eating and drinking to prevent vomiting and potential airway obstruction caused by anesthesia. During the process of separating the tunica vaginalis and the skin, great care must be taken to avoid damaging blood vessels and the tunica vaginalis septum, while ensuring effective hemostasis. When gently separating the tunica vaginalis mucosa, it is essential to steer clear of major blood vessels. For longer procedures, adding anesthetic agents to the intravenous fluid can enhance the effectiveness of the anesthesia.

To thoroughly clean the surgical site, use a warm solution of metronidazole to wash away any blood stains. Then, wipe the area with iodine alcohol and proceed with alcoholbased iodine desiccation. Carefully make a circular incision around the base of the scrotum, avoiding major blood vessels, and meticulously separate the arteries and veins. Apply pressure to stop bleeding at any points encountered, and if necessary, perform ligation. After bluntly separating the subcutaneous tissue, rinse the wound with a warm metronidazole solution and apply a moderate amount of gentamicin solution.

Suture the mucosa with absorbable sutures and close the skin with结节缝合. Apply a protective bandage. Due to the abundance of capillaries in the scrotum, during the blunt dissection, a slow intravenous infusion should be administered, including medications such as ceftriaxone and antihemorrhagic agents. If adhesions are severe and the surgery is lengthy, continuously monitor the dog's heart rate and breathing to prevent any safety incidents.

Following the surgery, place the dog in a quiet, isolated environment and closely monitor until it regains consciousness. Once awake, fit the dog with an Elizabethan collar to prevent it from licking the surgical area. Administer antimicrobial and antiinflammatory treatment for 5 to 7 days, including intravenous injections of metronidazole solution and a 0.9% sodium chloride dilution of ceftriaxone or cefoperazone. On the first postoperative day, provide the dog with a small amount of liquid food, gradually increasing the amount as its spirits improve. Keep the wound clean and dry, applying iodine alcohol daily to prevent secondary infection. Maintain the wound's dryness and hygiene, and continue to use the Elizabethan collar to prevent the dog from licking and causing further infection.
