Strategies to Prevent Unsuccessful Breeding in Female Rabbits

1. Nutritional Management for Lean Rabbits: For female rabbits that are underweight, the keeper should implement a "shortterm premium feeding" approach prior to breeding. If the rabbit has experienced a decrease in food intake due to recent high temperatures, it is crucial to provide nutrientrich feed once temperatures cool down to help restore the rabbit's condition. Conversely, for rabbits that are overweight due to excessive feeding, limiting their food intake before breeding is essential. This should aim to keep the rabbits at 7080% of their ideal body condition, which is most conducive to estrus and breeding.

2. Scientific Rearing of后备母兔: It is important to avoid using the same feeding methods for后备母兔 as for growing rabbits. Instead,后备母兔 should be reared according to specific standards for female rabbits, as the feeding methods suitable for growing rabbits are not appropriate for后备母兔.

3. Addressing Male Rabbit Sperm Quality: If infertility in female rabbits is due to poor sperm quality from the male, the keeper should check the sperm vitality and semen quality of the male rabbit before breeding. For males with poor semen quality, it is necessary to improve their condition before breeding. Additionally, proper feeding management of the stud rabbits should be maintained, ensuring they receive adequate nutrition, including essential amino acids, to guarantee sufficient levels of trace elements and vitamins. It is also important to avoid overfeeding or underfeeding the stud rabbits, and to prevent them from breeding too frequently.

4. Preventing Mold ToxinInduced Infertility: To prevent infertility in female rabbits caused by mold toxins, the primary preventive measure is to focus on preventing feed spoilage and ensuring the quality of the rabbit's feed. This is especially crucial during rainy and humid weather when feed spoilage is more likely.

For cases of repeated breeding failures in female rabbits, the following measures can be taken:

1. For female rabbits that are in heat but fail to become pregnant after natural mating, a single injection of 0.6 to 0.8 micrograms of Ovuplant can be administered after the first mating. The rabbit should then be allowed to mate again 1 to 2 hours after the injection. In the case of artificial insemination, the same dose of Ovuplant can be injected after the first insemination, with a 1 to 2hour interval before the next insemination.

2. For infertility caused by ovarian cysts, antibiotics can be used for treatment.

These are the methods for preventing repeated breeding failures in female rabbits that Dr. Oxygen Pet has introduced. We hope this information is helpful to you!
