Part 1: The Breeding Process of the Princess Rabbit

The Berrymore rabbit originated in the United States, specifically in Washington. In 1910, a rabbit breeder named Mr. Young, with a vision to create a new breed, purchased several meat rabbits from the market and embarked on a journey to cultivate a new variety. One day, Mr. Young noticed a rabbit with a yellowishbrown coat and found the color appealing. He decided to preserve this trait and began crossbreeding the meat rabbits with the yellowishbrown ones. Through continuous breeding and careful selection, Mr. Young eventually succeeded in developing a new breed of rabbit, the yellowishbrown meat rabbit. In 1952, he showcased his creation at an ARBA (American Rabbit Breeders Association) event, hoping to gain recognition for his new breed. However, upon returning home, he disliked the original name and renamed the breed the Berrymore rabbit. In 1953, he brought the Berrymore rabbit to the ARBA event again, and over the following years, he continued to present it, until it was officially recognized by ARBA in 1958.

Part 2: Characteristics of the Berrymore Rabbit

Bred for commercial purposes, the Berrymore rabbit boasts a charming appearance with eyes that can be either grayblue or coffeecolored, and a coat that ranges from coffee to coffeeyellow shades. However, the belly, paws, chin, and tail of the Berrymore rabbit have fur that is a creamy white, contrasting beautifully with the rest of its coat. This unique combination of colors adds to the rabbit's endearing, gentle, and adorable nature.

The Berrymore rabbit shares similar living habits and dietary needs with most rabbits. What sets it apart is its robust survival capabilities, making it an excellent choice for those interested in pet rabbit ownership.
