On the first day of illness, the primary symptoms are a loss of appetite, where the dog may desire food but is unable to consume it, yet remains energetic. By the second day, the condition worsens significantly, with the dog experiencing vomiting, which begins with the expulsion of white, frothy, mucouslike substances. This is accompanied by a general feeling of weakness. By the third day, the vomiting continues, and the dog may refuse to eat or drink, along with the passage of yellow, watery stools. On the fourth day, the dog may suffer from bloody diarrhea, with brown, watery stools containing blood and emitting a foul odor. The vomiting persists, and the dog continues to refuse food and water. It is crucial to note that dogs infected with parvovirus should not be allowed to drink or eat during treatment, and they can be given glucose to boost their energy levels.

Treatment Measures for Canine Parvovirus

1. AntiVomiting: Administer an intramuscular injection of Metoclopramide (Gastrogard) or Aminopyrine (Apoquel) at a dosage of 0.05 milliliters per kilogram of body weight.

2. Hemostasis: Inject intramuscularly Antistax (Ethylen diamine tetraacetic acid) at 0.2 to 0.5 milliliters per kilogram of body weight and Tranexamic acid (Amicar) at 0.5 milliliters per kilogram of body weight.

3. AcidBase Balance Adjustment: Depending on the degree of dehydration, provide isotonic saline solution at a dosage of 30 to 70 milliliters per kilogram of body weight.

4. Treatment for Acidosis: In cases of acidosis, inject 5% Sodium bicarbonate at a dosage of 10 milliliters per kilogram of body weight.

5. Fasting: During treatment, it is essential to continue the fasting and water deprivation.

Prevention Methods for Canine Parvovirus

1. Isolation and Sanitation: Immediately isolate the affected dog and thoroughly clean and disinfect all items and living spaces used by the dog.

2. Vaccination: The most effective way to prevent canine parvovirus is through vaccination.
