Diabetes in dogs is a serious condition that requires prompt attention and management. Recognizing the symptoms of diabetes in your furry friend is crucial for their health and well-being. Here are some clear signs to look out for and what you can do to help your pup.

Increased thirst and urination are often the first signs that something might be wrong. If your dog starts drinking water excessively and urinating more frequently than usual, it could indicate high blood sugar levels. This is because diabetes affects the body's ability to regulate glucose, leading to more fluid intake and, consequently, more trips to the bathroom.

Weight loss despite eating more is another red flag. Dogs with diabetes might eat more than they used to, but they may still lose weight. This happens because their bodies can't properly convert food into energy, so they burn muscle and fat instead, leading to weight loss.
