DIY Dog-Friendly Goat Milk Cookie Recipe
1. Store the sealed mixture at room temperature. The quantity produced by this recipe is sufficient for a grown dog to consume for a week. To ensure freshness, it's best not to make large batches each time.
2. The sheep milk biscuit can be given directly as a treat for adult dogs. For puppies under 5 months old, it's recommended to soften the biscuit in water before feeding, to make it more palatable for them.
3. While sheep milk biscuits are beneficial, they should not be overindulged in. Dogs, like humans, tend to gain weight easily and lose it with difficulty. It's ideal to give them a few pieces daily to supplement their calcium intake.
Ingredients:
Butter: 80 grams
Egg: 1
Allpurpose flour: 200 grams
Sheep milk powder: 50 grams
Preparation Steps:
Step 1: Choose unsalted butter and sheep milk powder, especially important since the recipe is for your furry friend. Avoid using cow's milk or milk powder. If sheep milk powder is unavailable, yogurt can be a substitute, but you may need to adjust the flour proportion accordingly.
Step 2: Gather all four ingredients. Melt the butter over low heat, ensuring it doesn't overheat. It should simply turn into a liquid state.
Step 3: Beat the egg and mix it with the melted butter. Then, sift the combined sheep milk powder and allpurpose flour into the beaten butter and egg mixture.
Step 4: Begin to knead the dough. Continue until the flour and butter mixture are well combined, the dough is smooth and not sticky, and you can shape it into the biscuit form. (The dough will remain soft due to the warmth of your hands, so it's a good idea to chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes after kneading for easier shaping.)
Step 5: Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F) with both top and bottom heat. Bake for about 15 minutes, keeping an eye on the biscuits. They should turn slightly golden, but be careful not to overbake as they can burn easily.
Step 6: It's important not to feed your dog something too hot, so remember to let the biscuits cool completely before serving.
