Is Catnip Harmful?
Cats typically become interested in catnip around 6 months of age and will usually return to normal within 5 to 15 minutes. After indulging in catnip, it takes at least two hours for a cat to become interested again. Regularly offering a small amount of catnip can encourage cats to regurgitate fur, which is beneficial for their digestion. But remember, a little goes a long way; just a finger's worth is sufficient.
Catnip itself is not addictive, but it's still best not to overdo it. Too much can cause respiratory difficulties in cats.
