Effective Measures to Enhance Rabbit Productivity and Stability

1. Select HighQuality Breeding Rabbits. Breeding rabbits should be robust with wellproportioned bodies. Male rabbits must exhibit strong libido and mating ability, while female rabbits should have welldeveloped reproductive organs, normal estrus, strong maternal instincts, high litter size, and ample milk production.

2. Timely Breeding. It is best to breed female rabbits during the middle phase of their estrus cycle. After each mating, gently tap the female rabbit's rump twice to prevent seminal fluid from escaping. Allow an 8hour interval before the next mating attempt.

3. Strengthen Feeding and Management. Ensure a balanced and nutritious diet for rabbits, with healthy, palatable, and easily digestible food. Feed rabbits regularly, quantitatively, and qualitatively, starting with forage and followed by other feed to increase their appetite.

4. Implement Fetal Care Measures. The 1020th day of pregnancy is a critical period for potential miscarriage. During this time, the breeder should provide extra care for pregnant rabbits. Keep them in individual cages and feed them with highprotein, mineral, and vitaminrich feeds. If signs of miscarriage appear, administer fetal protection medication promptly.

5. Learn the Art of Parturition. Five days before the expected delivery, thoroughly clean and disinfect the rabbit birthing area. Clean the female rabbit's vulva and disinfect it with 0.1% chlorhexidine before labor. After the kits are born, promptly clean any mucus from their nostrils with a clean towel, place them in a nursery box, and ensure they receive colostrum immediately.

6. Prioritize Postpartum Care. After giving birth, feed the mother rabbit some tender grass, saltwater, or sugared water. Gradually increase the amount of concentrated feed after three days to prevent mastitis. Adjust the amount of juicy feed according to the mother's milk production to prevent insufficient milk supply.

7. Care for Kits with Dedication. To promote rapid growth in kits, feed them milk regularly and quantitatively. In case the mother's milk supply is insufficient, artificial feeding can be implemented using a syringe without a needle to feed the kits with goat's milk or soy milk three to four times a day.

8. Timely Weaning. Kits should start practicing eating grass around 1618 days old. By the 30th day, they should gradually switch to a diet of feed, with milk as a supplement. If the kits are growing well, weaning can occur between 4045 days, depending on their actual development.

Dr. Oxygen Pet温馨提示Whether for daily rabbit care or to increase breeding rates, it is crucial for breeders to maintain a warm and dry rabbitry, regularly change bedding, and schedule routine vaccinations. Strictly adhere to all aspects of feeding management.
