Section 1: Treatment Methods for Early and Middle Stages of Canine Distemper

1. Vaccination: Administering the appropriate vaccines is crucial to prevent the disease.

2. Isolation and Disinfection: It is essential to isolate the affected dog and thoroughly disinfect the environment to prevent the virus from spreading further.

3. Emergency Passive Immune Therapy: Begin early and use large doses of hightiter immune serum, immunoglobulins, Qiangli Canine Health, interferon, and monoclonal antibodies to bolster the dog's immune response.

4. Early Administration of Medications: Utilize antiinflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, and antishock drugs such as cefazolin sodium, Vipda, IGY Antitrypsin, Puxiding, bismuth subcarbonate tablets, active probiotics, vitamins, and intravenous fluids.

5. Blood Transfusion: Transfusing blood from a compatible blood type to the affected dog can be beneficial. Early and middle stages of canine distemper are ideal for this treatment, which should be accompanied by fluid therapy and antiinfection measures. The cure rate for early and middle stages of canine distemper is relatively high. In the late stages, when dogs are severely dehydrated and the body is failing, immediate blood transfusion and fluid replacement are necessary.

Section 2: Treatment for Late Stages of Canine Distemper

1. Latestage dogs may exhibit neurological symptoms. In such cases, the aforementioned treatments may be less effective, and traditional Chinese medicine should be incorporated into the treatment plan.

2. Acupuncture: The best points to target are Tianmen, Renzhong, Mingmen, Taodao, and Dachui.

3. Medication: A single dose includes one vial of serum, one vial of cefradine mixed with three milliliters of disinfectant and one vial of dexamethasone; dexamethasone is administered in the morning only. Additionally, one vial of multivitamin B complex, one vial of coenzyme A, one vial of vitamin C, one vial of adenosine triphosphate, and one vial of Liothyronine. These are all taken twice a day, with the exception of dexamethasone, which is given only once. If possible, purchase interferon and inject it at noon for enhanced effects. Always ensure to follow the correct dosage instructions.
