1. Potatoes: Hamsters can safely enjoy cooked potatoes, but it's essential to remember that starchy foods like potatoes, sweet potatoes, taros, and yams must be wellcooked before being offered to them. This is because hamsters cannot digest the starch granules found in raw potatoes, and it can also harm their digestive health. As a supplement to their diet, pet owners can include a variety of vegetables such as lettuce, spinach, and cucumbers to ensure their hamster receives a balanced nutritional intake.

2. Carrots: Hamsters can consume both cooked and raw carrots. However, if you opt for raw carrots, it's advisable to let them sit for a few days to allow some of the moisture to evaporate. Fresh carrots have a high water content, and overconsumption can strain their digestive system, potentially leading to diarrhea. Additionally, always ensure the carrots are thoroughly cleaned to prevent any bacteria or dirt from causing stomach upset in your hamster.

3. White Radish: White radish, a root vegetable, is rich in calcium, phosphorus, iron, protein, and vitamins, which are highly beneficial for a hamster's growth and development. Pet owners can confidently offer white radish to their pets. Hamsters naturally thrive on a plantbased diet and have a preference for highmoisture vegetables like cabbage, kale, lettuce, and spinach. Feel free to include these in moderation.

4. Rice: Some hamsters have a penchant for grainbased foods, so you can offer them rice, along with other grains like mung beans, black rice, or soybeans. Moreover, you can provide them with rice, but only after it has cooled down and the grains have separated. Hot rice is very sticky and can easily stick to a hamster's cheek pouches, leading to digestion issues.

When feeding your hamster mung beans, be cautious not to overdo it. Mung beans are cooling in nature, and excessive consumption can cause diarrhea. However, offering mung beans during the summer can help keep your hamster cool. For more insights into your hamster's diet, continue reading "List of Foods Hamsters Can Eat (Part Three)."
