However, I must take a moment to address some important pet care considerations during the Spring Festival.

1. Prevent overindulgence: Many pet owners tend to spoil their furry friends with extra treats during the holiday season. This often includes feeding them more meat than usual, especially when guests arrive. The excitement can lead to pets consuming an excessive amount of fat in a short period, which can ultimately result in digestive disorders such as pancreatitis and enteritis.

The best approach is to manage your own expectations and inform guests in advance. A momentary indulgence can lead to a lot of discomfort for your pets.

Avoid feeding bones: During the festival, we often consume fish, shrimp, seafood, and ribs. It's crucial to be cautious as bones can fall to the ground or be intentionally given to pets, potentially causing digestive issues or even becoming lodged in their intestines. It's best to avoid feeding bones altogether.

Stay clear of fruit pits: While many owners aim to give their pets a vitamin boost during the holidays, it's important not to give them fruits with pits. These can pose a risk of being swallowed and causing harm.

Keep pets away from fireworks: Dogs that are prone to scavenging might accidentally ingest the firecrackers' contents, leading to poisoning. Always keep a close eye on your pets when out for walks to prevent such incidents.

Do not leave pets alone for extended periods: During the festival, families may be out and about, even staying away overnight. While this is usually fine, the loud noises from fireworks can be quite distressing for pets, especially the elderly ones. This can heighten their anxiety and lead to accidents. It's essential to provide comfort to any animal that becomes frightened.

Wishing all pet owners and their beloved companions a joyful and peaceful Spring Festival!
