The time it takes for a dog to recover from distemper can vary significantly based on the dog's constitution, age, and breed, typically ranging from 30 to 60 days. However, if the condition worsens, it may take longer to heal. It's crucial for dogs to avoid contact with puppies and unvaccinated dogs for at least six months after recovery to prevent harm to others.

Distemper is a chronic illness, and during this period, dogs may become quite weak. Therefore, proper care and treatment during the middle stages of the disease are particularly important. From the course of treatment, if there is no significant improvement after 2 to 3 days, particularly if a glucose infusion therapy is not effective, the chances of recovery are very low.
