Part 1: The Origin of the Soviet Red Dog

The Zhujiao Town in Laizhou City has been the cradle of a unique breed of dog over the past few decades. This breed is the result of crossbreeding between Great Danes, Dachshunds, German Shepherds, Korean Dosa, Shandong Slender Dogs, and Japanese Wolfhounds, along with local canines. The combination of these breeds' genetic traits has led to a widespread distribution in Laizhou, Longkou, and Yantai regions. Known for its distinctive "six red" coat color and originating from Zhujiao Town, this dog has earned the names "Laizhou Red" and "Zhujiao Red." In recent years, canine breeding experts have conducted field studies and thorough research on its origin, ultimately deciding to assign a more scientific and standardized species name—Chinese Shan Hong Dog—to better preserve and promote its breeding.
