Effective Cat Ear Mite Treatment Guide: Quick & Easy So
The Current State of Cat Ear Mites
Common: Ear mites are a very common disease that resides in the external ear canal of cats.
Less Common: With increasingly clean living conditions and a growing awareness of prevention, ear mites are becoming less of a problem, finding less room to thrive.
PS: The life cycle of ear mites is approximately 2028 days; they are transmitted through physical contact (ear mites are not a threat to humans, though they may cause a brief rash at most).
Clinical Manifestations of Cat Ear Mites
1. Upon opening the ear, you can observe a large amount of black or dark brown, dry debris.
2. The ear emits an unpleasant odor.
3. The cat may shake its head, scratch its ears, and may also be stimulated in other parts of its body.
Therapeutic Methods for Cat Ear Mites
Shu'erle (Ears Relieved): After applying the drops, gently massage the base of the ear 5 to 7 times → allow the cat to shake its head → expel the debris → repeat the process until all the dirt is removed.
Four Points to Remember:
① How much should be applied? Aim for a visible liquid level.
② How often should this be done? Once or twice a week is sufficient.
③ Act promptly to avoid further damage from scratching and rubbing, which could lead to secondary infections.
④ After recovery, maintain a monthly preventive measure against parasites (Aidike) for a while.
