Choosing the Right Vaccination Time:

Typically, puppies between 35 to 45 days old can receive the first combination vaccine. For puppies from home breeding, who are naturally protected by antibodies within the first 45 days, vaccination can begin between 45 and 49 days of age. Around the age of 2 months, the puppy should receive the quadrivalent vaccine, followed by another dose four weeks later. Additionally, the rabies vaccine should be administered when the puppy is at least three months old. After completing the first year's immunization schedule, booster shots should be given annually starting from the second year.

What Should Pet Owners Be Aware of During the Vaccination Process?

PreVaccination Considerations:

Before vaccination, ensure that your pet is in good health. Puppies with any signs of illness, such as elevated body temperature, loss of appetite, an open wound from neutering that hasn't healed, weakened immune systems, or those in the late stages of pregnancy or recently given birth, should not be vaccinated. It's also important to remember to deworm your pet before vaccination. Parasite infections can interfere with the immune response and affect the effectiveness of the vaccine. Avoid using mebendazole during the vaccination period, as it has immunosuppressive properties. Regular deworming is crucial for disease prevention.

PostVaccination Considerations:

After vaccination, the puppy should be observed in the clinic for at least half an hour to ensure there are no adverse reactions before being taken home. In rare cases, some puppies may experience adverse reactions such as facial swelling, excessive drooling, vomiting, wholebody tremors, redness or rashes of the skin, unsteady gait, or inability to stand. If any of these symptoms occur, please seek veterinary assistance immediately and provide treatment.

For the first two weeks after vaccination, the vaccine has not yet provided sufficient protection. Therefore, it's important to enhance the puppy's nutrition and avoid taking them outside or bathing them (it's recommended to bathe your pet before vaccination).
