Section 1: The Optimal Time for Cat Training

Desiring a more affectionate and clingy cat? It's best to start training them from a young age. The prime training period is typically around the first three months of a kitten's life.

For adult cats, their personalities are generally wellestablished and more stable. Starting training at this stage requires significantly more time and effort. Therefore, pet owners should seize the opportunity while the kitten is young and its personality is still malleable to begin socialization training.

Section 2: What is Socialization Training?

Cat socialization refers to a cat's ability to peacefully coexist with owners, strangers, and other cats. A wellsocialized cat can handle various unfamiliar environments and creatures with ease. Cats that have excellent socialization tend to be more outgoing and less prone to stress reactions in the face of unexpected situations. They are also generally more gentle and affectionate. Such cats can handle routine tasks like vaccinations, baths, and even sudden changes like moving or being transported without significant stress.

Section 3: How to Train a Cat

Cats are known for their stubbornness and strong sense of pride. Compared to dogs, they are less willing to comply and more independent. Thus, during training, it's important to interact with your cat as a playmate, maintaining an equal relationship and avoiding a sense of being commanded.

Begin by holding a treat in your hand and giving the command "come." Gently wave the treat to catch the cat's attention and encourage it to approach you.

Once the cat responds to the "come" command by coming to you, you can then use the treat to lure it to walk a short distance. With consistent training, the cat will develop a conditioned response, making it follow your call without hesitation.

To foster good habits in your cat, use affection and praise as rewards. Avoid overreliance on treats, as excessive snacking can diminish the treat's appeal, reduce the effectiveness of training, and lead to issues like pickiness and obesity.
