One: Act Quickly to Implement Warming Measures

When a Corgi comes down with a cold, symptoms like a runny nose, sneezing, and a dry cough may be accompanied by a loss of appetite and a decreased interest in eating. If the cold is severe, it can significantly affect the dog's appetite. When you notice these signs in your Corgi, it's crucial to take immediate action to keep them warm. This might involve moving an outdoor Corgi indoors to a cozy room, or dressing them in a protective coat. During the harsh winter winds, pet owners can place a hot water bottle or an electric heater in the area where the Corgi sleeps to keep them warm and prevent the cold from worsening.

Two: Administer PetSpecific Medication

After ensuring your Corgi is adequately warmed, observe if they regain their usual charm. If the symptoms persist, it's advisable to give your Corgi petspecific medication. In most cases, if the cold isn't severe, the dog should start to recover within 13 days, or up to 37 days. However, if there are no signs of improvement after several days, it's best to take your Corgi to a veterinary clinic to rule out illnesses like canine distemper or parvovirus.

Three: Adjust the Diet Appropriately

It's also important to note that after a cold, your Corgi's appetite may be affected, leading to a decreased interest in eating. Feeding your Corgi greasy foods at this time can further diminish their appetite. It's recommended to focus on a nutritious and light diet, avoiding oily and spicy foods that can exacerbate the cold. You can soften dry dog food with warm water or prepare easytodigest meals like millet porridge or fresh noodles for your Corgi.
