It's essential for cats to receive a diverse array of nutrients, totaling over 40 different types, to maintain optimal health. These nutrients must be consumed in balanced proportions to ensure a complete diet. Homemade meals often fall short of providing the precise nutritional balance required, and cats cannot compensate for deficiencies by foraging like they would in the wild. Therefore, it's generally not advisable to make homemade food the sole diet for your feline companion. Otherwise, your cat may suffer from malnutrition, obesity, poor coat condition, frequent skin issues, and even develop health problems such as diarrhea or kidney stones.

For adult cats, their diet should contain approximately 25% protein or more, with puppies requiring a higher percentage based on this standard. Fat content should not be less than 9%, ideally sourced from fish and meats, with carbohydrates not exceeding 40%. Additionally, vitamins and minerals are crucial for maintaining a cat's physiological functions, but excessive intake can pose potential risks to their health.

One more critical aspect to emphasize is hydration. Ensure that your cat has access to clean, fresh water at all times. The minimum daily water intake should be around 50 to 80 ml per kilogram of body weight. Dehydration can have far more severe consequences than hunger.

Here's a recommended dietary guide for your cat:

Main Course: Cat Food (opt for grainfree, natural formulas), FreezeDried Cat Food

Important Note: Never substitute dog food for cat food, as it lacks the necessary protein and essential nutrients like taurine and lysine. For adult cats, feeding should not be strictly timed or portioned, but avoid overloading the bowl to keep the food fresh.

Supplements: Canned Food (preferably without vegetables or grains), FreezeDried Treats (soaked in water to boost hydration), Homemade (occasional boiled or baked meat products)

Important Note: Be cautious with the frequency of supplements, as too many can lead to picky eating habits.
