Dog Gastroenteritis: Causes, Symptoms, and Treatment
After diarrhea, the dog lies listlessly, lacking in energy.
One: Causes
The primary causes of this condition can be attributed to a variety of factors, including irregular feeding habits by the owner, overeating, consumption of spoiled or rotten food, ingestion of刺激性 drugs, parasites, or infectious diseases.
Two: Symptoms
The symptoms may include a decrease in appetite, depression, indigestion, vomiting, diarrhea, elevated body temperature, sticky feces, unsteady gait, hematochezia, drooling, frothing at the mouth, and seizures. In advanced stages, severe dehydration can occur, potentially leading to gastric failure and even death.
Three: Treatment Methods
Due to the diarrhea and vomiting, the owner should restrict the dog's food for a full 24 hours. After this period, the dog can be offered small amounts of water. Once the dog begins to eat, a combination of Puxiding, Weilik, and Weipuda medications can be administered to treat the condition.
