Tetracycline

Tetracycline can be effective for various types of diarrhea, but it can be fatal if overused. Some owners, eager for quick results, might give their parrots an entire tablet, which can have dire consequences. If using tetracycline, it's recommended to use veterinarygrade tablets and administer 1/5 to 1/4 of a tablet based on the parrot's weight, mixed in water and fed for 35 days.

Probiotics

Parrotspecific probiotics can be purchased online, or baby probiotics can be used as an alternative. They help restore gut flora and alleviate gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting. However, probiotics may be too slow for acute diarrhea, and antibiotics may still be necessary.
