The German Shepherd is a towering breed with an acute sense of alertness, commonly bred for its exceptional abilities as a police dog. Prior to the 3rd month of age, the primary growth is in weight. Between the 4th and 6th months, there is a noticeable change in body length, and from the 6th to 8th months, the shoulder height becomes distinctly more pronounced.

Compared to other dog breeds, the German Shepherd requires ample physical activity to support its skeletal development. Therefore, it is essential for owners to ensure their young pups engage in regular outdoor activities, increasing their exercise to foster healthy growth.

This majestic breed boasts robust muscles, strong bones, and a head that accounts for 40% of its overall height. Their ears stand tall and proud, while their sturdy back and broader waist, coupled with a longer rump, contribute to their formidable build. The chest depth occupies 45% of their total height. Their dense, straight, and hard coat is predominantly black on the back and face, with lighter shades of gray on other parts of the body.
