Koi with bulging eyes may not die immediately, and they can still survive even after their eyes fall out. 3. Cloudy Eyes

Cloudy eyes are a highly prevalent eye condition in koi fish, usually caused by poor water quality. Impurities in the water, water degradation, or aging can easily lead to bacterial infections in koi fish. Feeding them unclean food can also cause infections or internal parasites. In the early stages of cloudy eyes, you may notice a white film over the fish's eyes. If not treated promptly, the fish's eyes may become cloudy. In the later stages, the eyes may swell and develop white, cottonlike tufts, which can lead to blindness if left untreated.
