Part 2: Symptoms of Heatstroke in Cats and Dogs

1. Elevated body temperature, often exceeding 40℃ (normal for dogs and cats is 37.739.2℃)

2. Rapid or labored breathing

3. Gums and mucous membranes turning brick red or even purple

4. Appearance of red or purple spots on the skin and gums

5. Unsteady gait, drooling, seizures, and collapsing

6. Lethargy or restlessness

7. Vomiting and diarrhea

Part 3: Emergency Measures for Heatstroke in Cats and Dogs

1. Remove your furry friend from the hot and stuffy environment and quickly move them to an airconditioned room or a wellventilated area

2. Offer cool, clean water to drink

3. Apply physical cooling: Use cold (not icecold) water or towels soaked in alcohol to gently wipe or cover the belly, armpits, groin, inner ears, soles of the feet, and forehead

4. Use an electric fan to aid in ventilation and cooling

5. Seek immediate veterinary care for further treatment

1. Avoid keeping your pets in humid or hot locations

2. Provide ample water during the summer months

3. During outdoor activities, keep your pets in shaded, wellventilated areas
