Now, let's take a moment to briefly explore how traditional training methods teach a dog to perform the 'shake' command.

Those who have been attentive in their studies should recall that the core steps of traditional training involve: (1) applying pressure, (2) the dog avoiding that pressure, and (3) the dog receiving relief.

At its essence, traditional training for teaching a dog to shake is quite straightforward. We simply take hold of one of the dog's paws, issue the "shake" command, and reward the dog for the action. This process is then repeated consistently until the dog associates the command with the action, and the behavior is considered mastered. It may seem simple, and that's the beauty of traditional training—it's a straightforward, foolproof method that's easy to grasp and implement.

It's important to note that I am not belittling traditional training methods; rather, I am acknowledging that different methods have their merits. I have been trained in "positive reinforcement" techniques, which I prefer for their ability to make training more enjoyable and mentally stimulating for the dog, fostering a deeper bond and better cognitive development.

On a personal note, I've had experiences where I've lost my patience with dogs, getting frustrated or even resorting to punishment due to their mischievousness or disobedience. I've come to realize that using my power to mistreat the vulnerable is wrong, much like domestic violence, where someone's inability to solve problems through nonviolent means only highlights their own weakness and insecurity. We all have our dark moments, but as adults, it's our responsibility to control our tempers and show unity and tolerance towards our families.

I firmly believe that domestic violence is never acceptable, and the recent revelations of such incidents in the entertainment industry only reinforce this. My stance is clear: zero tolerance. We should not wait until we are on the brink of harm before speaking out.

Whether you view a dog as a beast or as a family member, it's crucial to understand that dogs cannot speak. When you strike them, they are unable to express their pain. Dogs are loyal and loving; when they are struck, they can only howl in despair. Once you understand their thoughts and feel the same love for them, I am confident that you will never want to harm them.
